A traditional chief condemning immediate past president (Nana Akufo Addo) particularly for always instructing chiefs to stand up and greet him. According to him and other many Ghanaians, such actions were unwarranted and a total disrecpect to the chieftentcy institution.
Many people spoke against it and he (president) turned a death ear to it. Without any empirical evidence, his party’s abysmal performance in the just ended elections could be associated to such traditional factors.

Interesting and factual piece about African politics particularly Ghana.
I remember the then opposition party NDC capitalized on this agenda and brought it to the forefront of the ordinary Ghanaian particularly in culturally endowed communities such as northern Ghana to win more votes. This was one of the most talked about issues on radios and TV stations in the countdown to December 2024 general elections in Ghana.
However, the most interesting question here is, was this traditional factor decisive in the general election outcome? We will leave to empirics on another day.
Thank you
