A recent study published by Nature seems to suggest that between Africa and Southern Asia
had once existed a continent that scholars call Mauritia, which, along with India and Seychelles,
broke away from Madagascar and “subsequently fragmented into a ribbon-like configuration because of a series of mid-ocean ridge jump.
