For decades, the people of Souroukou fought valiantly to defend their land. The village endured three major battles, each time emerging victorious against those who sought to conquer it. During the colonial era, the waterfall became a symbol of resistance against German occupation, standing as a testament to the unyielding spirit of its people.

Souroukou is more than just its majestic waterfall. Scattered throughout the village are remnants of the anti-colonial struggle, each carrying the echoes of past heroism:
• The tomb of the warrior Kloun, a legendary leader who fell in battle defending Souroukou.
• A stone wall stretching over 100 meters, built as a defensive barrier against invaders.
• A mystical water source, said to have been created by Kloun himself to provide water for his warriors.
